Terms of Service
Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Information Only — Not Advice
All content, data, charts, commentary, and analysis published on Canadian M&A Insights (the “Service”) is provided strictly for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, financial, investment, accounting, tax, legal, valuation, brokerage, or M&A advice of any kind. Nothing on the Service is an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, finance, value, or otherwise transact in any business, security, or asset.
2. Consult Qualified Professionals
Any investment, acquisition, divestiture, financing, succession, or other M&A or business decision should be made only after consulting appropriately qualified and licensed professionals — including, where applicable, legal counsel, chartered accountants, tax advisors, licensed investment dealers, business valuators, and M&A advisors — who can assess your specific circumstances, jurisdiction, and risk profile.
3. No Responsibility for Your Decisions or Risk
You acknowledge and agree that you use the Service entirely at your own risk. SuccessionSME, its affiliates, contributors, data providers, officers, employees, and agents accept zero responsibility and zero liability for any decision you make, action you take, or activity you choose to participate in based on information obtained from the Service, and for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive losses or damages — including loss of profits, capital, opportunity, goodwill, or data — arising from or connected to your use of the Service.
4. Data Accuracy and Sources
The Service aggregates data from third-party sources including the Bank of Canada, Statistics Canada, SEDAR+, and the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. While we strive for accuracy, we make no representations or warranties — express or implied — about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, timeliness, or availability of any information. Data may be delayed, restated, revised, or contain errors. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it.
5. No Fiduciary or Advisory Relationship
Use of the Service does not create any fiduciary, advisory, brokerage, agency, or professional-client relationship between you and SuccessionSME or any of its affiliates.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by scraping at a rate that degrades availability, reverse engineering, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or using the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
